Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Visit the renowned Kamakhya Temple, an ancient Shakti Peeth. Later, take a river boat ride to visit the Umananda Temple located on Peacock Island in the middle of the Brahmaputra River. Check in to your hotel for an overnight stay in Guwahati.
After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park (approx. 200 km / 5 hours), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Check in to your resort, relax, and spend the evening at leisure or explore the nearby local handicraft markets. Overnight stay near Kaziranga.
Embark on an early morning jeep safari in the central zone of Kaziranga to spot the majestic one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, and tigers. Post-lunch, visit the vibrant Kaziranga Orchid Park. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
After breakfast, drive to Jorhat and take a thrilling local ferry ride across the mighty Brahmaputra to reach Majuli Island, the largest river island in the world. Explore the sacred Satras (Vaishnavite monasteries), traditional pottery-making, and local tribal culture. Overnight stay at a homestay in Majuli.
Depart for Sivasagar, the historic capital of the Ahom Kingdom. Explore fascinating historical landmarks including Rang Ghar (Asiaâs oldest amphitheater), Talatal Ghar, and the sacred Sivadol temple. Overnight stay in Sivasagar.
Travel from Sivasagar to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary (approx. 260 km), renowned for having one of the highest densities of the one-horned Indian rhinoceros. Enjoy an exciting evening wildlife safari and interact with local villagers. Overnight stay at a nearby eco-resort.
Drive back to Guwahati (approx. 50 km). In the evening, unwind with a mesmerizing sunset Brahmaputra River Cruise. Finally, get dropped off at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of Assam.
