Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh and check into your hotel. Complete rest for proper acclimatization to adjust to the high altitude. In the evening, visit the Shanti Stupa for sunset views and explore the local Leh Market for authentic handicrafts. Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, embark on a monastery tour. Visit Shey Palace (former royal residence), Thiksey Monastery, and Hemis Monastery (one of the largest and wealthiest in Ladakh). In the evening, explore Leh Palace and Leh Gompa. Overnight stay in Leh.
Drive through the worldâs highest motorable pass, Khardung La (40 km from Leh). Continue driving towards Nubra Valley (160 km total). Visit Diskit Monastery and witness the giant Maitreya Buddha statue. Experience the surreal Hunder Sand Dunes and enjoy a double-humped camel safari. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
After breakfast, drive towards the breathtaking Pangong Lake (274 km) via the scenic Shyok River route. Arrive at Pangong Lake, located at an altitude of 4,350m, famous for its changing color hues. Enjoy the stunning surroundings and stay overnight at a deluxe camp near the lake.
Enjoy a magnificent sunrise at Pangong Lake. After breakfast, drive back to Leh (225 km) via Chang La Pass. On the way, visit the famous Druk Padma Karpo School (featured in the film '3 Idiots'). Arrive in Leh by evening and relax. Overnight stay in Leh.
Drive to witness the famous Magnetic Hill where vehicles defy gravity. Stop by Sangam Point where the Zanskar and Indus rivers meet. On the way back, visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and the Hall of Fame Museum. Overnight stay in Leh.
After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Leh Airport for your onward flight home, carrying unforgettable memories of the Land of High Passes.
